Certifications & Approvals – Compliant and Officially Recognized
All MK9S explosive detection dogs hold a permit according to §20 of the German Explosives Act (SprengG) and meet the strict requirements of the competent authorities. Our K9 teams have been vetted, certified for deployment in security-critical areas, and are regularly inspected by independent auditors.
LBA Certification (Air Cargo Security)
Our explosive detection dog teams have LBA certification (Federal Aviation Office), which authorizes us for use in the aviation security sector. This certification is subject to strict requirements and is reviewed annually.
ISPS Code (Maritime Security)
In the maritime sector, we support port and terminal operators in the operational implementation of ISPS-relevant control measures – particularly detailed checking of cargo/CTUs, storage areas, and vehicles by explosive detection dog teams, including auditable documentation. The founder of MK9S has successfully Port Facility Security Officer Course completed according to ISPS Code and therefore has a deep understanding of port security structures and requirements.
Critical Infrastructure Act (Critical Infrastructures)
For KRITIS protection, our explosive detection dogs are further trained according to the specifications of the KRITIS umbrella law. We fulfill all requirements for the protection of energy suppliers, waterworks, telecommunications facilities, and other critical infrastructures.
DIN SPEC 77201 (Annual Inspection)
All of our explosive detection dog teams undergo an annual review in accordance with DIN SPEC 77201. This ensures their systematic integration into operational hazard prevention plans and ISPS security concepts.

Teaching position at a University of Applied Sciences for Police
The founder of MK9S works in teaching at a university of applied sciences for police on the topic of IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices). This teaching activity ensures not only direct exchange with current official structures and procedures but also continuous access to the latest findings, tactics, and threat scenarios. This knowledge directly flows into the training of our K9 teams and into our operational deployments.
